Animal print is the one print above all others that I tend to gravitate towards. And it's not just the print I go nuts for, it's any piece where big cats feature. To date I have one tiger print dress, one leopard print dress and about three or four T-shirts with various big cats baring their fangs. The reason? Pretty simple, I love big cats. I have had the pleasure of stroking a Cheetah in South Africa and many Tigers in Thailand, and would love to add a Panther, Lion and Leopard to the list. They are smart, agile and simply beautiful. Here's one I photographed getting a kiss from a monk in Thailand....

How I Met Your Style

Behind the scenes of every great fashion brand or blog lies a person. This person is usually creative and stylish with a life lined with parties, beautiful clothes and empty coffee cups. How I Met Your Style is a website that takes a closer look at these people, capturing snippets of their lives through innovative photography.

The website was created by Carmen and Ken Wu, two photographers with a penchant for cultural aesthetics and impeccable style. Together they have created a perfect launch pad for inspiration and a great place to get lost in on a rainy afternoon.

Outfit: Sport Luxe

Let me start by admitting something- I don't do sport. I've had my phases growing up- netball, horse riding, even a brief football stage..... But these days the closest I get to actual sport is embracing fashion's interpretation. This outfit was worn back at the beginning of Autumn when it was still sunny enough to go without a coat, (ahhh, those were the days), and when wearing sunglasses didn't cause sniggering glares.

My terracotta bat-wing top was worn over a black maxi dress, with skirt knotted to one side, and finished off with a pair of high-top converse and layered necklaces. Looking back a clean and simple topknot and one statement necklace would have made this outfit even better.... still, it was good enough for a Sunday walk in Windsor :)

A couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend and I had a day full to the brim of fantastic, (and home cooked I might add), food. So as a blogger armed with an iPhone, I felt the need to share our mini feast! I should preface this by admitting that I am an awful cook. I like to bake when I have the time, but savoury food just doesn't seem to compute in my head. These two dishes were cooked by my lovely other half, with me standing close by shouting motivational words of encouragement.

Our first meal was after a rather epic lie in and covered breakfast and lunch in one hit- poached eggs on an onion bagel with a side of Oscar Myer bacon, heaven.

After this we trawled the BBC food website for dinner inspiration and settled for mozzarella and chorizo stuffed chicken with a breadcrumb crust, rosemary infused roast potatoes and a Mediterranean vegetable medley.

During all this I was on the other side of the kitchen attempting to bake some white chocolate Blondies with peanut butter frosting. And while, when cooking, the mixture looked/smelled more like an omelet, they actually turned out OK! Surprisingly though, they tasted better once chilled. This is the recipe I used.

In the depths of Winter fashion can take somewhat of a backseat in my life. Some days I simply think- WHAT WILL KEEP ME WARM? And since Christmas that means just one thing- my new cosy chunky knit cardigan. My mum, sick of hearing me complain about the cold, got me this brown oversized knit for Christmas and it has been my go-to item for colder days ever since.

Today I paired it with my other Winter staple- berry coloured jeans..... and a mildly unflattering band tee. In an attempt to 'fashion' my look up a little I threw on a gold stud cuff (found for £4.50 in the Topshop sale!) and some sunnies (thank you winter sunshine).

Hopes for 2012....

So here we are..... 2012. Another year successfully shelved and popped into the back of our minds; with another bigger, brighter year ahead, waiting to be unravelled.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I take these first few, (usually miserable), days of January as a chance to reflect and plan. Every year I compile a list of things to accomplish in the coming year and feel invigorated, excited and unstoppable! For about two weeks. Then I lull back into normality and look back the following year with a shrug and 'must do better' attitude.

Last year was one of my most transitional to date, without going into too much detail, aspects of my life were thrown on their heads and I somehow came through the other end fighting. So this year is going to be different. I've learnt that life doesn't give a damn about your plans or resolutions, so instead, I'm going to stick to one or two of hopes for 2012.

So, here are my hopes for 2012.....

1) Get closer to moving out.

Always on my list, however I have come to the realisation that my current work/financial situation does not lend itself easily to this hope. But hey, that's why it's a hope this year, not a 'to-do'.

2) Lay off the booze, chocolate, cheese, etc.

Cliche? Yes. Gonna happen? Who knows. I go through phases with this one, as someone who has recovered from an ED I often think 'screw it, life's too short, hand me the Toblerone', but equally my body, skin and general well being is screaming for a break from all the decadent living. So damn it, I'm gonna try.

3) Stay Happy.

I'm a glass half full chick- always have been, always will be. It's served me well so far.

Right enough of that emotional, heart-felt mumbo jumbo! How about some pretty clothes?! For New Years Eve I went to a 40's themed party and wore a rather fabulous beaded dress from Clothing at Tesco and teamed it with vintage accessories, Oasis boots, a Gin Fizz cocktail and a rather dashing boyfriend....

What did you get up to New Years Eve? Any hopes or resolutions for 2012?

....Christmas! Only two working days left and then a lovely four days full of festive fun-ness!

But first.... a quick apology for being MIA in blog-land of late. Life has been getting in the way, (in the best way possible), and finding a spare thirty minutes to blog has become increasingly difficult. My poor camera has been sitting on my desk next to my Macbook, both of whom are looking cold, neglected and generally very sorry for themselves. I have promised to use both more in the new year and have even given my camera a little clean to keep its spirits up.

Christmas and New years both look set to be all kinds of awesome as I share them with the people who mean the world to me. Who knows, I may even get the camera out early and snap a few moments for Limbo :)

In the meantime, I have to share a quick song with you. Not a particularly festive tune, but it is too beautiful not to share. I have been falling for Ben Howard ever since I was handed his EP a year or so ago to review, and now that his full length album has hit the big time I have fallen even harder.

F&F Spring/Summer 12

A couple of weeks ago I was very kindly invited to the OXO tower at Southbank to preview F&F's Spring/Summer '12 Collection. For those of you that don't know, F&F is Tesco's clothing brand, and I'll admit it.... I had never taken so much as a glance at their collections before. So you can imagine my surprise when I walk into the event and am greeted not only by champagne, fish 'n' chip canapes and cupcakes, but also rails and rails of BEAUTIFUL clothing.

Bright hues and graphic prints met sleek tailoring in a cocktail of summery loveliness. I'm not normally one for high-impact colour and in-your-face pattern, but the sophisticated cuts of these pieces were enough to get me excited about a technicolour season.

Sadly this was also the night I discovered my camera no longer focused, (in the process of getting it repaired as we speak), so I have no photo's of said clothes! I do however have a link to Hannah's fantastic photo's from a Bow Dream Nation, and a few of my favourite images from F&F's lookbook....

I had a thoroughly lovely evening and would like to thank Tesco for inviting me :)

The maxi skirt. Simple, chic and an item that has well and truly made it into my 'signature look' pile over the years. Back when it was slightly warmer (ahh, remember those 2 weeks of Summer, that was nice wasn't it?) I wore my daisy print skirt to death. For work I wore it with a plain white tee, a long necklace and tan ankle boots. Now its getting colder I'll be pairing it with Chunky knits and layered chains. Here's how it looked then- as soon as I get my camera fixed I'll show you how it looks now ;) Not bad for a fiver from Primark eh?

Fashion Writing Competition

People blog about fashion for many different reasons, some do it out of boredom, others out of passion. For a lot of people however, it is also a way of getting their name out there into the big bad world of fashion writing. Another fun way of doing this is by stretching those writing muscles and entering the odd competition....

Recently Freemans got in touch with me to see if I would spread the word about their latest fashion writing competition, naturally I wanted to keep quiet and enter it myself (mwahaha), but as this is competition is for students, I couldn't! But I know quite a few of my readers are students so thought I'd let you all know about it....

The prizes: The winner of this competition will be published on Freemans fashion blog AND win a shiny new Toshiba laptop! There are also 2 Sony digital cameras and a Samsung camcorder up for grabs for the runners up!

Here's Freeman's guide on how to enter:

Stag Sixteen

I always find it exciting when designers from all arena's join together, especially when it's for one amazing cause. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it always promises amazing results, and this November the project Stag Sixteen have brought talent together to raise money for the homeless charity Centrepoint. To read a more in depth piece on what they intend to do, take a look here.

The general idea behind the project is getting 16 designers from the fashion, jewellery and interior world to put their own spin on an iconic stag head. Making each one unique and, (as expected), awesomely stylish, these stag heads will go up for auction on the 16th of November where all proceeds will go to the Centrepoint charity.

Me & My Arrow

Those of you who follow my blog have probably noticed my slight obsession with jewellery.... and how much I relish discovering hidden gems (ahem, excuse the pun).

My latest find is Digby & Iona, a brand launched in 2006 by designer Aaron Ruffs who has a penchant for hidden treasure. The latest collection is called 'Me & My Arrow' and takes inspiration from prehistoric times and ancient tools. Each piece is created with a simple aesthetic, which naturally appeases my minimalist style. I love how fine the pieces are and the dedication to detail, especially the teeny tiny feathers attached to each arrow.

During the working week I love making an effort with my wardrobe- tailored trousers, skirts and dresses.... so when the weekend comes around I usually have one thing on my mind: denim. Over the years I've acquired a few pairs of jeans and, lets face it, they are a staple in everyone's wardrobe. A couple of weeks ago I indulged myself in a casual look, teaming a ripped skinny pair with white converse and a bobble top. I threw my hair in a top-knot and added some sunnies for a laid back Saturday look.

One of the problems with working in the fashion industry is the CONSTANT temptation. All day long at Question Air I am packing beautiful clothing and sending them off to lucky customers. With every fold of tissue paper my heart breaks a little more *sob*

To make matters worse, over the last couple of weeks I've had the chance to work in one of the boutiques and have tried on, and consequently fallen in love with, several pieces.

A brand I've heard described as 'the cashmere of denim' Goldsign make the softest, stretchiest denim I have ever felt. They fit like a dream and will last forever. A true denim investment.

I've always wanted a cape in my life, and I love the heritage element of this one.

We're coming to the end of September and Autumn has officially come to say hello. With the nights drawing in and a distinct chill in the air, I always feel Britain somehow sigh's with relief. No longer does it have to flit between hot and rainy- trying to satisfy our summer fantasies, it can relax and do what it does best....be friggin' freezing.

And you know what? That's fine, Britain. I've learnt not fight with you. Besides, this means I can wrap up in my beloved chunky knits, scarves and boots with no shame. I can drink hot chocolate daily and not feel guilty, (well not much) and I can claim every Sunday a 'duvet day'.

So, make yourself comfortable Autumn, I think we'll get along just fine.

The first day of a new fashion job calls for some serious panic..... WHAT TO WEAR?! So a couple of months ago when I had my first day, I did some damage control with a bit (ok, a lot) of shopping. I ended up wearing this blue 'Mint Velvet' dress I picked up in the sales with a grey cardigan and black heels. A silver globe necklace from Rock 'n' Rose and a panic stricken facial expression completed my first day look.

For someone that used to struggle with fractions and algebra, I've become incredibly fond of Math. Of course I'm talking about Math Collective- the fashion brand. Basing their collections on deconstructed silk, leather and suede, Math unite modernity and luxury with style.

Simple, clean lines paired with slouchy layers- this collection makes me weak at the knees. And you know what makes it even better? The brand is based in London. VW Festival

I should probably start this post off by admitting something...... I don't/can't drive. I am a 25 year old non-driver who relies on bus', trains and, (more often than not), lifts from friends and family. It's just something I never got around to doing, or have ever really had a big desire to do. Having said that I have always thought to myself that if/when I ever did get around to learning my car of choice would be a vintage beatle. Ever since I saw Kate Hudson driving around in a pale blue one in some godawful movie, I said- thats what I want.

So when my sisters other half bought himself a rather stunning purple vintage beatle and invited me along to the VW Festival in Southsea- how could I say no? After a bumpy and break-down ridden drive there, we arrived at the festival just in time for a quick browse, a walk by the coast and an ice cream.

Even though I can't drive any of the cars, I still appreciated the fest and had fun taking hoards of snaps.....

Over the last few weeks I have noticed a distinct lack of love in the world. Between the rioting, the 'couple-blog' hating and the harsh commenting going on in cyber space, there seems to be a lot of hate out there. Now I know life is hard, and not quite as full of candy floss and kittens as we would like, but is taking our frustration out on each other really helping matters?

So in rebellian I suggest we spread a little love by doing the following.....

1) Compliment a stranger

2) Smile at the bus driver/ postman/ rubbish collector

3) Take a box of baked treats into the office

4) React to a difficult customer/ co-worker with a smile

5) Tell someone you love them

When you make those steps towards your wardrobe before facing the world, do you look at your clothes first or your accessories?

When I get dressed I usually pick out the clothes first and then accessorise, I think that's the norm with most of us, right? But every now and then I get an urge to wear a certain accessory and end up creating an outfit based on that. It's almost more fun that way- more of a challenge.

In this case my accessory of choice was a grey turban headband from Rock 'n' Rose. I paired it with a grey midi-dress, a black cardi, tan ankle boots and a Najavo-inspired necklace for dinner with friends.

I came across 'Still With You' a while ago when someone had a giveaway featuring their gorgeous leather earrings, and ever since then I've been popping onto their etsy site from time to time to see what pretty new pieces they add to their shop. In my latest visit I came across their range of stunning crystal necklaces and have fallen in love. I used to collect crystals when I was younger, (yes I was a bit of a hippy), so these strike a chord with me on both a personal and stylish level!

Ahh, love.

What are your thoughts on crystal necklaces? Any one else collect crystals?

Having a cold is never going to be fun, but I think these tissue holders by Gnome Sweet Gnome would do a pretty good job at cheering you up!

The Interview

Dressing for a job interview is always full of potential minefields- especially if you're interviewing for a fashion orientated job. You want to look like you know what you're talking about, have an original style, smart, but not a slave to trends. A few weeks ago I had an interview for the position of office/web assistant at a fashion website and I wore this....

I think the dress showed off my personal style while the black add-ons kept the look smart. Polka dot tights were to add a little fun and to keep warm, (this was back when summer was more winter!!), and I thought the raffia style bag was a chic finishing touch.

Those of you that follow me on Twitter will already know that I got the job!! I have been working towards a job in ecommerce for a while now and am so happy to finally have gained myself a position in the industry. To top it off the staff at the office are absolutely lovely and have really made me feel welcome :) The job is in London so I'm going to start looking for places soon- if anyone knows of any rooms going in North London, (I'm thinking Finsbury Park or somewhere on the Piccadilly line), do let me know!

I have dreamt of this career and moving to London for years and cannot quite believe it's happening now! So incredibly happy. Thank you to everyone who tweeted me congratulations and those who have supported me- means so much. On that note- I am officially up to 100 followers! Which means I will be planning another giveaway soon!

Ever have moments when you pause, look around, and think....'Damn. Life is pretty sweet.' ? I love those moments and I had a pretty wonderful one earlier. I was sitting in my garden at 7pm, under a tree, listening to this song and reading the latest Elle magazine. It was uncharacteristically warm, the sky was turning a beautiful pink and my dad was pottering around the garden planting flowers.

As sad as it sounds, its moments like this when I'm at my happiness. Give me sunshine, good music and something to read and I'm set. Of course there are other factors that contributed to my sudden 'life is good' realisation, mainly a fantastic weekend with old friends, a new job and an exciting future ahead, (more on that later), but it really is the simple things that get me smiling.

So yes, sometimes life does suck and you want to punch it in the face... but if we can hold onto these simple pleasures and captured moments, then hopefully it won't be so inclined to punch back.

Obsession

So, Shoes or bags? As the cliche says, all fashion loving females are obsessed with one of these accessory groups, if not both. My personal 'affliction' is a bit more specific than that though.... my chosen poison? Ankle boots. Heels don't interest me, sparkly stilettos or platform peep-toes go by un-noticed. Show me a good shoe-boot, ankle boot or wedge and I'll beg for mercy. I just think they rock up feminine looks and add that edge I crave which you just don't get with a pretty sandal. Even now when England is experiencing somewhat of a heatwave, you can't get me out of my boots.

My current obsession du j'ore are these Isabel Marant Dicker boots....

But alas, my budget isn't quite Marant worthy yet, (one day!). So instead I'm drooling over these...

These beauties from Oasis are £65 and need to come home and live with me. We would be pretty happy together.

And these are the famous Topshop Ambush boots currently doing the rounds on the blogosphere, but at £75 they are still a little rich for my blood. Still. Aren't they bootiful? (See what I did there?! aha! Sorry)

So apparently the 90's called....and, uh, they want their look back.

I wasn't consciously aiming for that look, but I guess that's what happens when you wear tie dye and shirts. I wore this for an evening at the pub a few weeks ago when it was actually still summer! I Paired a tie dye maxi dress with a floral shirt, (which I tied at the waist and tucked in to make it cropped), and popped on some wooden beads over the top.

This evening was also the evening I realised my hair was just about long enough to actually play with! So after lots of pulling and prodding I managed to tease it into a relaxed side plait.

Simply Breakfast

Hands up who skips the so-called most important meal of the day in favour of coffee and a cigarette? I never used to eat breakfast, I felt nauseous at the thought of it and got by on juice, before gorging on a big, (and usually fattening), lunch. But as I've gotten older I have become more and more reliant on breakfast, I simply cannot function without it anymore. I tend to go through phases of favourite breakfast foods, at the moment I'm loving Special K Strawberry Clusters or occasionally greek yoghurt with banana and honey. The best breakfast I've had in a while, however, was scrambled egg and chorizo on a toasted muffin at Giraffe, (I also highly recommend their blueberry pancakes).

I think it's safe to say I've become somewhat of a breakfast enthusiast, so imagine my delight when I stumbled on Simply Breakfast- a blog that documents Jennifer Causey's morning meals with beautiful photography. It is food porn for the early risers.

Take a look and get ready to kiss that coffee and cigarette routine goodbye...

I remember when I first became attracted to the sheer shirt look, it was right about the time they started popping up on every fashion blog I read. What can I say, occasionally I fall in line behind every other fashion sheep! So I was pleased when I spotted a few styles in my local Primark in various colours a couple of weeks later. I ended up going for the orange version as it's become one of my favourite colours to filter in between my otherwise neutral based wardrobe.

A couple of weeks ago I had a meeting planned with a local fashion photography studio and decided to don my orange shirt. I wore it over a black vest and teamed it with khaki trousers, black brogues and a long necklace....

Necklace Storage

Remember a while ago in my post 'One woman's trash...' I was trying to figure out ways of storing my many necklaces? Well, after checking out some blogs I found inspiration! I wish I could remember who's blog it was on, (do give me a shout if it was you), but I saw someone had attached some plastic adhesive hooks onto the inside of her wardrobe doors to hang her necklaces on! Genius! Originally I had planned to get myself a cork board and use pins, but after looking at the sheer weight and volume of my collection, I realised this may not work quite so well. So instead I promptly went out and got myself a load of adhesive hooks and started to sort out my mammoth necklace collection on the inside of my wardrobe.

It has made accessorising so much easier and has even revealed some previously forgotten, (or tangled!), pieces.

This is how it looks...

Now both doors are covered with my longest chains while my shorter ones remain on my stands.

Today I also gave my wardrobe a bit of a clear out and organise, so things are looking pretty neat in there right now. Does anyone else store their necklaces like this?

I've found myself with a bit more spare time than usual lately, (thanks to one of my freelance jobs falling through), which means more time to trawl the internet for pretty things! Another outfit post for you guys! I've been pretty good at getting my mum or dad to take pictures of my outfits, and I already have another waiting to be edited, but I must admit.... it's quite scary posting them! You completely put yourself out there and let everyone and anyone comment on how you dress. Luckily everyone's been kind so far, but I'm kinda dreading the first 'that looks stupid' anon comment. Oh well, just have to suck it up, I'm pretty confident with how I dress, and there are always going to be people that hate.

Anyway- onto the outfit! I wore this a couple of weeks ago when I went for a night out in London. Paired a black vest with a high-waisted vintage skirt and added black wedges and gold jewellery....

After delving back through the archives of my blog a couple of days ago, I noticed that today, July 10th, is Limbo's third birthday! Three years following me from unemployed bum, to, (part-time), freelance writer and all the fun stopping points on the way. Its been such an eye opening experience, gaining me confidence, friends and a creative release. I came across this lovely photography project through Emma over at Is This Real Life ,(AKA one of my favourite blogs out there), and had to share it with you guys. I'm a massive photography fan and ideas like this make me swoon.

The project is called 'Dear Photograph' and the idea is that you take a picture of a picture from the past in the present, and then write it a little message. Confused? As they say, a picture says a thousand words, so I'll let them explain...

Recent Bargains....

I must admit, like most bloggers, I do love a good bargain. Recently I've picked up some really great pieces at some even greater prices, proving that you don't need a 50K salary to look good.

A few tips for finding a good bargain:

1) Shop the sales EARLY, get there before the hoards to get the best bits.

2) Strike up a friendship with your local charity shop. I'm lucky with this as my mum works in mine, but all you need to do is make friends with the manager and maybe even pass them on your number.... It never hurts to be cheeky and if it means they'll think of you when the really good stuff gets donated, all the better!

3) Don't buy something just because it's cheap, make sure you are really in love with it!!

Right, here's what I picked up....

These Brogues are from my mums charity shop and I LOVE them! I havent given my mum the money yet so not sure how much I'll be charged, (probably no more than £20 though).

I got this from a charity shop in Guildford, I love its minimalistic look and its double chain which lets me wear it either long or short! It has become my staple 'going out' bag. It cost me £6

Another one from my mums shop, I just loved its Chanel-esque look, so good for Summer! If I remember correctly, I believe I paid £4 for this one!

AHHH. My favourite bargain! Picked this up in the Warehouse sale last weekend. It was one of those, 'gotta have it' moments when I walked in, I'm obsessed with burnt orange and this is just so my style. I plan on rocking it with flat ankle boots for future job interviews....oh and it was £20 down from £50. Not bad eh?

Happy Friday everyone! I thought it was about time I started doing more outfit posts on here, so I got my mum to take a few snaps of me yesterday before I headed to Guildford for a day of retail therapy with my sister. I've had a pretty rubbish week to be completely honest, mostly work related, (or lack there of), but shopping with my sis and then dinner with a friend really cheered me up- it's crazy how little things can pick you back up!

The Blazer is new and pretty much the only pink item I own! My wardrobe is basically a combination of blues, greens and neutrals....colour scares me. Although I'm trying to break my habit and buy more colourful items, all in the name of fashion. I will try and do more outfit posts on here as I know how much I like seeing how other people style outfits, so expect lots more awkwardly posed shots of me in the future!

What incredible weather we've had the last couple of days? Always makes me smile when the sun comes out, even if it does happen very rarely here in England!

Yesterday me and my family headed to Worthing to visit my grandparents, was so nice seeing them. We took my grandma out in her wheelchair for a walk a long the coast and of course I took lots of snaps....

Cats and Rocking Chairs

Ever so slightly obsessed with Morven from 'Cats and Rocking Chairs' style at the moment. She dresses the way I wish I could dress!

Right now I'm having an 'I hate my wardrobe' moment, probably due to the schizophrenic British weather and also because of my current work situation. Currently I'm either working from home which sees me wearing comfy trousers, (hello harems, tracksuit bottoms and PJ's), and anything warm on top...OR I'm working in my local Paperchase where I'm wearing a rather unflattering uniform. On the few occasions I do go out to socialise I end up staring at my wardrobe for hours before throwing on a go-to look. I miss dressing up everyday and putting thought and effort into what I wear, I know to some it seems frivolous, but to me dressing well gives me confidence.

I'm hoping my career is going to head in a slightly more fashion friendly direction soon so I can revive my love for fashion and have fun with it again!

And when that time comes I know where I'll be looking for inspiration, the beautiful Morven....

Anyone else feel uninspired fashion-wise sometimes? How do you get over it?

Week Off

You know what I love? Going to bed without having to set my alarm, knowing that I will wake up when my body wants to, not when society dictates. And lucky for me I have a WHOLE week of this. Time off work is one of life's little pleasures *sigh*

Saying that, I don't intend to spend my entire week doing nothing, (although there will be one or two days dedicated to just that), I want to get a few things accomplished. And me being the list fanatic that I am, I've written up a nice little to do list....

TO DO:

Clear out draws / tidy and organise wardrobe

Give room a thorough clean- dust, hoover etc.

Write a short story

Write article for freelance job

Bake / cook something new

Decorate / find good DIY for glass GU pudding jars

Get back into exercise routine

Prepare for this week's 2 job interviews!!!

Go to the cinema to see new X men movie

Some fun stuff mixed in with some less fun stuff. Today I'm calling a 'nothing' day. Have been suffering with a cold the last few days so just trying to rest up and get over it so I can get on with my week!

One Day

Another one of my favourite books is being made into a film! Excited and anxious in equal measures. 'One Day' is a sweet, funny tale of two friends and how their relationship mutates over the years, meeting up for one day each year on the anniversary of the day they met, I fell in love with the concept.

Interested to see how Anne Hathaway tackles the role of Emma, I like the look of the trailer but only time will tell!

So while I'm waiting for the CMS at work to fix itself I thought I'd write up a quick wish list! I've managed to spend a silly amount of money this month already, so each of these are on hold until more funds appear...

1) The 'Style Diaries' book, started flicking through this round my sisters this morning and I'm loving it- I need to get my hands on my own copy!

2) A subscription to Oh Comely Magazine. I'm so in love with this mag and I only own two copies! This must be rectified.

3) New tattoos!!! I want two more, one of them being a peacock feather on the back of my neck, something like this...

4) These Aldo Wedges...

5) This necklace from Regal Rose...

6) Oh and a job and flat in London would be just fab. Thanks.

One woman's trash....

... is another woman's treasure, right? This week I have been thoroughly spoilt by my mum. She works in our local charity shop and is always coming home with bags of unwanted jewellery for me to rummage through. It's so much fun emptying the bags and hunting through for anything that catches my eye, this is what I got this week....

(I'm especially in love with the wooden rosary style necklace!)

I have also noticed a theme to my jewellery collection this week..... I am a necklace-a-holic. Rings annoy me, bracelets get in the way, earrings are fun on occasion, but necklaces? I can't get enough. Layer me in chains and pendants and you'll see a very happy Kat.

My only issue is storage, I currently use two necklace stands, but they are really overloaded and pieces keep getting tangled up. What do you guys use to store your necklaces?

Fashion- whether you love it or not, it's an integral part of every girls life. But can you remember that first moment as a child when you fell in love with something and refused to take it off? I'm talking about your earliest fashion memory. I can remember mine vividly.

It was Christmas in the early 90's and I must have been about 6 or 7. I was told as it was a special occasion, I could wear GOLD SHOES. They kinda looked like these....

I remember putting on those glittery gold ballet pumps with such excitement, thinking they were magic. I was convinced I could walk on clouds with these shoes and threw an almighty tantrum when I was told to take them off at bed time. Since then I always attached magic qualities to my clothes, you should've seen me when Clarks had those 'secret keys' hidden in the heels of their shoes- I was ecstatic.

I think how you view fashion as a child really sticks with you. Obviously I don't think my gorgeous grey suede boots will help me walk on clouds, but I do feel a bit more magical with them on.

So we're now in June. This year is hurtling by so fast it's actually scaring me! May has ended on a sour note for me, marking the worst month in 2011 so far. So in that respect I'm glad it's over, I can only hope June gets a little easier.

Making: Sweet music. No, not really, that's a lie. Not made anything this month, will do better in June. Promise.

Watching: 'The Runaways' film with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart- good film with an awesome soundtrack.

Reading: 'The Happiness Project' by Gretchen Rubin- a book documenting a year in the life of one woman dedicated to finding happiness. I'm up to March so far and am loving it.

Listening: Christina Peri, Jason Mraz, Heather Nova, Tristan Prettyman and The Foo Fighters.

Loving: My friends and family, they have been my rock.

Buying: TOO MUCH. I have taken the phrase 'retail therapy' a bit too literally. Skinny combat trousers, wing earrings, pendant necklace, maxi dress, dinners/drinks out, DVD's, albums....

The last week or two has really shed light on my friendships, and it's shown me once again just how truly amazing they are. So with this in mind, I wanted to post a piece of writing I wrote for my best friend Zoe a few years ago for her birthday- her 25th birthday is coming up and what I wrote still stands true and will do for the next 25 I'm sure :)

'When we are born we are instantly bound to people- by blood. As we grow older we learn to build a family outside our own. We choose individuals and let them into our lives. We share every hope, every doubt, every dark encrusted thought with them. Sometimes they hurt us, betray us- let us down. We see their true colours and move on without them. Over time we understand who to trust...who we can truly call 'friend'.

Every flaw, every quirk of their's lightens our lives and keeps us from loneliness when others leave. We see through their eyes and into their hearts- we see the illusive beauty within. The future holds many surprises hidden beneath the cosmos, but we know with these friends they can be tackled and turned into great adventures.

When we find these people we rest easy. When everything else falls apart we know we are not alone. And that is a gift to hold close to our hearts.

I stumbled across the 'Burning House Project' through Cellardoor magazine's fantastic blog and thought it was so clever that I had to share it with you guys.

The project poses a simple question...

If your house was on fire, what would you save?

I've been searching for it all week..... but to no avail. The off switch to my brain remains hidden. I often struggle getting to sleep, and have gotten into the, (bad), habit of watching TV until my brain gives in and lets me rest. The last two nights, however, have been far worse, with roughly 6 hours sleep stretched over the two. I swear my brain is on a self-destruct mission and has gone on overdrive. The amount of whirring going on in there would make a helicopter jealous.

I'm hoping sheer exhaustion will wipe me out tonight and I'll finally get a full eight hours, but if not? I guess I'll see you on the other side. Here's to warm milky drinks, 'sounds of the rainforest' CD's and lavender steeped pillows.

Any of you guys struggle to catch some zzzz's?

Tabio Bloggers Event

So, remember a while ago I mentioned that I had been invited to another Bloggers event? Well this time it was for Tabio, who some of you will know as the place to go for socks and tights. They don't just sell your run-of-the-mill standard hosiery though- they've taken this product group and made it their own. With cool cuffs for your ankles, accessories for your feet and top quality fabrics, Tabio have stamped their creativity all over the hosiery market. I was thrilled to be invited to their first Bloggers event, (held at their flagship store on Kensington High Street), as I've never been to any of the stores before and was excited to see these products in real life!

I met up with the lovely Jazmine from 'Jazzabelle's Diary' and Daniela from 'Couture and Crumpets' at Waterloo station before heading off to the event. The store itself was very stylish and filled to the brim with a vast array of unique products! Most of the time was spent chatting to fellow bloggers, the Tabio staff and finding out more about the Spring/Summer range. The staff let us choose a piece of Tabio to take home, so after much deliberation I came away with a pair of pretty spotted tights which I'm itching to wear!

At the event I met Amy from 'Vintage Reflection', Kitty from 'Kitty Hates Everything', Harriet from 'Where is Harriet' and Maria from 'Frills and Spills' who were all incredibly friendly. It was just so nice to meet fellow bloggers in real life and discover some great new blogs along the way! Everyone was so kind and welcoming and I would like to thank Tabio once again for inviting me, my first official Bloggers Event was fantastic.

Review: Rooftop Collective

As some of you may or may not have noticed through reading my blog- I am a bit of a music fanatic, particularly folk/rock styles. I have been writing reviews for ‘For Folk’s Sake’ for the past few years and before that I wrote for various other music sites. So when I spotted that an old classmate had started making folk/blues music of his own - I had to give it a listen.

Now I remember James from school as being the musical protégé- always one step ahead of the class. So I’m not surprised that he’s making music now and is doing so under the name of ‘Rooftop Collective’.

The Collective’s music brings together a talent for songwriting with skilful blues styling to form a modern day take on folk music. The harmonica melodies inspire images of years gone by, while the lyrics speak of modern day issues. Each song tells a tale tinged with melancholy and yet manages to present it in a wistful way. ‘Master Dreamer’ resonates with me personally, (as a fellow master dreamer), and ‘My Best Friend’ tells a sweet story of friendship and loss. The standout track for me however has to be ‘It’s Over’, where heart wrenching vocals lie over a lethargic bass line, showing off James’ writing skills beautifully.

Overall I think Rooftop Collective have the makings of a great first EP and are clearly destined for a bright future. Check out their music for yourselves here and while your at it, go 'like the facebook page here ;)

Philippe Roucou's Polaroid Scarves

I'll admit it... I am a sucker for anything with a polaroid print on it, coasters, notelets, you name it. I am also somewhat of a scarf collector/obsessive.... so you can imagine my excitement when I came across Philippe Roucou's line of polaroid print scarves, called 'Objects Trouves'. The scarves themselves are made from 100% silk and all the designs come from found images- probably picked up at a car boot somewhere. I love it when designers take discarded art and create something new.

The best thing about these pieces is that they actually look really good on, yes you do loose the image, but still- they look great! I love them.

Earlier this week I was lucky enough to be invited along to the launch of Flash Paradise- a tropical themed pop up shop put together by students at Middlesex university to raise money for Japan. Open for two days only, the make-shift shop had an amazing itinerary including blog workshops led by Carrie from Wish Wish Wish and Bang! Nails painting nails in an array of tropical themes!

At the launch me and my sister were greeted by the, (even more), stunning in real life Lucy from Snippets of Shiny Thoughts who promptly sorted us out with drinks and a free illustration. After munching a few cupcakes and admiring the clothes I got the chance to meet and chat with some fellow bloggers- Jazmine, Lizzy, Hannah, Sherin and Suzie.

The evening was so much fun and me and my sister even won a piece of clothing in the raffle! As well as heading home with a fantastic goody bag :)

It was my first 'event' as a blogger and I had to battle some nerves to go, but I am so glad I did. I've been invited to another event next week- and now I am even more excited! So keep an eye out for that one :)

Kittens and Ice Cream

Say hello to Bettie the kitten! My sister and her other half got her a couple of weeks ago and I have already been over twice for, ahem, 'dinner' .... by dinner I quite clearly mean to play with the kitten! She is a little monster and attacks everything that moves, but she is such a cutie its hard to be mad at her. The other picture was taken on a little family outing recently- you can't beat ice cream in the sun.

Just thought I'd do a little catch up post- how has everyone's week been? Mines been full of ups and downs. Low points have included failing to get further in a job application I really wanted and skipping yoga because I was lazy. Highlights have included going to my first bloggers event at the launch of Flash Paradise, (but more on that later!), and getting more freelance work. One thing's for sure though, the highs have definitely outweighed the lows

- all about perspective, right?

Making: Made some amazing chocolate chip Brownies. Getting into baking the same time as trying to get healthy was a silly idea. Ah well.

Watching: So you think you can dance- love watching these amazing dancers! Also watched my favourite film this month- 'Into The Wild'. Brilliant film!

Reading: Finished Eat Pray Love, currently on the hunt for a new book. Tempted to re-read 'One Day' before the film comes out....Can't be any worse than the Eat Pray Love film, right?!

Listening: Marcus Foster, Ben Howard, Band of Horses and The Black Keys- gravelly voiced men with guitars? Yes please.

Loving: Exercising and eating healthy (ish) ! Started taking yoga classes again and am spinning up a storm on the exercise bike. Can finally feel a difference after about two months of not eating crap and moving my butt more :)

Buying: Some gorgeous midi skirts from charity shops, a fab day out in Camden, drinks with friends and some rather questionable meal deals from Boots....

When I came across Australian brand Polli a few months ago, I quickly took note of their quirky pendants, (think stainless steel typewriters and kohl gold binoculars), and spent hours trawling the site- mentally snapping up every other piece.

Their latest additions have gotten me even more excited.... inspired by the Mexican tradition of the 'Day of the Dead' festival, Polli have created a collection based on the day of the dead skulls.

I love.

They come in kohl gold to, but I'm a silver girl at heart and love the stainless steel versions. Who knew death could be so pretty?

I can see why it's been passed around so much- it just. makes. sense.

And it starts like this:

"you see, when we’re born we see the world in an uncomplicated way. we know what we need, and we ask for it. we like nice people, and we don’t like mean people. we sleep when we’re tired, we eat when we’re hungry, and we stop eating when we’re full.

as we grow older, we eat and drink to console ourselves, rather than addressing what’s bothering us. we overwork to avoid close relationships, rather than finding people we can trust to form strong bonds with. we hold grudges, play games, spend more than we make, want things we don’t need, and we get too far away from our basic human needs. in other words...we complicate things."

I came across the most stunning music over at 'See Me Everywhere' and simply had to share.

The band are called 'The Honey Trees' and they are so up my street it's uncanny. They are a beautiful couple making sweet music and are doing so with shed-loads of style. All of their amazing photography and videos are shot by the vocalists brother- Simon Filip.

Their EP 'Wake the Earth' is out on iTunes now and so far, I am loving it.

So after many years of blogging my little 'To Limbo and Beyond' blog has made it to 65 followers! I feel like I'm getting into the 'groove' of Blogging and am finally finding my feet. 01- Issue 3 of 'Oh Comely' Magazine

I've only read two issues of this magazine but I can confirm that I absolutely, whole-heartedly ADORE it. Full of unique ideas, dreamy images and thought provoking reads. I wanted to pass a copy on to spread the love!

02- Fox-Head Necklace

My sister has recently started making jewellery so I asked her if she would make a little something for my giveaway. I chose the fox-head pendent as I thought it was pretty unusual and looks great on this leather tie.

03- Friends Wall Hanging

I spotted this in a cute gift shop in Guildford and had to pick it up. Couldn't put it better myself ;)
